Golfer of the Year (Men)

For Men, the Golfer of the Year is the player (age 18 or over on 1 January of the year of the award) who earns the most merit points in the season from 1 October to 30 September.

Points are awarded for:

Monthly Medals

In each of the two divisions, 6, 4 and 2 points for the best three scores.

The points are shared if two players have the same score.

Major Competitions (Walker Cup, President’s Day, Captain’s Day and Club Meeting)

In each round, in each of the divisions, 6, 4 and 2 points for the best three scores.

For the net 36-hole total, 10 points down to 1 point for the best 10 scores.

The points are shared if two players have the same score.

Members’ Days (June and August/September if run as an individuals competition)

10 points down to 1 point for the best 10 scores.

The points are shared if two players have the same score.

Major Singles Knockouts open to all (Priestley Cup, Abbey Shield, Club Trophy, Rabbits Trophy and Charity Cup).

2 points for each match won.

2 extra points to the final winner.

In the Charity Cup, two points are awarded to those who qualify for the knockout stages by having one of the best 8 scores in each division in the running medal stage of the competition.

Points are compiled as the season progresses. When possible, updates will be displayed on the results notice board.
